Post Update PMKRI Cabang Jakarta Pusat – Pengurus Pusat Perhimpunan Mahasiswa Katolik Republik Indonesia (PMKRI) periode 2024-2026, yang diwakili oleh Presidium Hubungan Perguruan Tinggi, Goldensius Jaran Ritalangun, mengadakan kunjungan ke Universitas Indonesia (UI) pada Jumat, 27 September 2024. Dalam kunjungan tersebut, Goldensius ditemani oleh senior PMKRI, Wahyu Handoko, serta Sekretaris Jenderal PMKRI Cabang Jakarta Pusat, Fransiskus Irmano Padre Pio, guna berdialog dan bertemu dengan puluhan mahasiswa Katolik yang tergabung dalam Kelompok Mahasiswa Katolik (KMK) UI.
Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan PMKRI sebagai wadah pengembangan diri bagi mahasiswa Katolik, baik dalam aspek akademis maupun dalam kehidupan sosial kemasyarakatan. Di hadapan para mahasiswa, Goldensius menekankan pentingnya keterlibatan aktif dalam organisasi berbasis kekatolikan seperti PMKRI.

“Sebuah pengalaman yang menggembirakan bisa berdialog dengan teman-teman semua. Saya mengajak teman-teman untuk belajar tidak hanya di kampus, tetapi juga di organisasi mahasiswa seperti PMKRI. PMKRI adalah rumah untuk semua dan menjadi ruang kaderisasi yang baik bagi teman-teman. Dengan nilai-nilai kekatolikan, PMKRI mengajak kita untuk terlibat dalam isu-isu sosial, keberagaman, lingkungan, ekonomi kreatif, dan kemanusiaan,” kata Goldensius dalam sambutannya.
Senada dengan itu, Sekretaris Jenderal PMKRI Cabang Jakarta Pusat, Farel Pio, turut memberikan motivasi kepada para mahasiswa untuk menjadi “garam dan terang” dalam kehidupan sosial. Ia menekankan pentingnya peran mahasiswa Katolik dalam mengatasi berbagai persoalan sosial yang dihadapi masyarakat, terutama yang melibatkan kaum miskin.
“Sebagai mahasiswa Katolik, sudah seharusnya kita menjadi garam di tengah kehidupan sosial. Kita dituntut untuk berperan aktif dalam mengatasi persoalan yang dihadapi masyarakat miskin dan papa,” ungkap Farel.
Lebih lanjut, Farel juga mengajak para anggota KMK FISIP UI untuk berproses bersama di organisasi ekstra kampus, khususnya di PMKRI Cabang Jakarta Pusat, demi mewujudkan misi Gereja Katolik.
Selain itu, senior PMKRI, Wahyu Handoko, mengajak para mahasiswa Katolik UI untuk terus berperan aktif dalam kegiatan sosial dan turut mengawal demokrasi di Indonesia. Wahyu menekankan pentingnya peran mahasiswa dalam merespons persoalan sosial, serta menegaskan bahwa terlibat dalam organisasi ekstra kampus dapat membantu membentuk integritas mahasiswa dalam mengkritisi masalah yang dihadapi masyarakat.
“Kawan-kawan jangan takut terlibat dalam organisasi ekstra kampus. Dengan terlibat aktif, kita bisa mengasah kemampuan menganalisis dan merespons isu-isu yang menjadi problem di masyarakat,” ujar Wahyu.
Ia juga memperkenalkan konsep Gaudium et Spes, Konstitusi Pastoral Gereja Katolik tentang peran Gereja di dunia modern, yang menyatakan bahwa kegembiraan dan harapan, duka dan kecemasan umat manusia, terutama kaum miskin dan menderita, merupakan kegembiraan dan harapan para murid Kristus.
Sesi diskusi dan sharing ini berlangsung dengan penuh antusiasme dari para mahasiswa yang hadir. Kegiatan ditutup dengan sesi perkenalan antar peserta sebagai bentuk pemeliharaan persaudaraan. Acara ini berlangsung di Aula Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi, FISIP Universitas Indonesia, dan berjalan lancar hingga akhir.
