Jakarta, 21 Agustus 2024 – Perhimpunan Mahasiswa Katolik Republik Indonesia (PMKRI) Cabang Jakarta Pusat menunjukkan kepedulian mereka terhadap para penyintas kebakaran di Manggarai, Tebet, Jakarta Selatan, dengan menyerahkan bantuan yang berhasil dikumpulkan melalui aksi penggalangan dana. Penyerahan bantuan dilakukan pada Rabu, 21 Agustus 2024, setelah PMKRI mengadakan penggalangan dana selama tiga hari.
Bantuan yang diserahkan berasal dari donasi yang dihimpun melalui media sosial dan aksi penggalangan dana di tiga titik strategis di Jakarta, yakni Tugu Tani, Tugu Pancoran, dan Jatinegara. Aksi ini mendapat dukungan luas dari masyarakat DKI Jakarta yang berpartisipasi dengan menyumbangkan sebagian rezeki mereka untuk membantu para korban kebakaran.

Presidium Gerakan Kemasyarakatan PMKRI Cabang Jakarta Pusat, Ricky Redja, dalam pernyataannya menyebutkan bahwa meskipun sudah ada bantuan yang diberikan kepada masyarakat terdampak, masih terdapat kebutuhan-kebutuhan penting yang belum terpenuhi, khususnya kebutuhan bayi seperti popok dan susu. Oleh karena itu, PMKRI Jakarta Pusat memfokuskan bantuan mereka pada kebutuhan-kebutuhan tersebut.
Dalam penyerahan bantuan, PMKRI Jakarta Pusat memberikan sejumlah uang tunai, popok bayi berukuran XL dan XXL, serta susu bayi. Ricky Redja menekankan bahwa bantuan ini adalah wujud solidaritas dan kepedulian PMKRI terhadap sesama, terutama bagi mereka yang terdampak bencana.
Tidak hanya menyerahkan bantuan, PMKRI Jakarta Pusat juga menyampaikan dukungan atas harapan warga RW 06/RT 12 Manggarai agar mereka dapat direlokasi ke Rumah Susun (Rusun) Pasar Rumput oleh Pemerintah Provinsi DKI Jakarta. Harapan tersebut telah disambut baik oleh pemerintah, yang telah memindahkan para penyintas ke Rusun Pasar Rumput sementara waktu, hingga pemukiman mereka yang terbakar dapat direnovasi dan kembali layak huni.
Yoyoh, koordinator lapangan di posko bantuan Manggarai yang berlokasi di gudang persediaan PT. KAI, menyampaikan rasa terima kasihnya kepada PMKRI. “Kami sangat berterima kasih kepada PMKRI yang telah membantu, baik dalam menyuarakan harapan kami melalui media untuk relokasi ke Rusun Pasar Rumput, maupun bantuan tunai, keperluan bayi, dan susu yang telah diberikan,” ungkapnya.

PMKRI sebagai organisasi yang bergerak untuk mewujudkan keadilan, kemanusiaan, dan persaudaraan sejati akan selalu hadir untuk masyarakat yang tertindas,” ujarnya.
PMKRI Cabang Jakarta Pusat berharap agar Pemerintah Provinsi DKI Jakarta terus memberikan bantuan, baik material maupun non-material, untuk meringankan beban para korban kebakaran di Manggarai. PMKRI berkomitmen untuk terus mengawal harapan ini hingga bantuan tersebut dapat terealisasi.
